CIBO ABRASIVES · WORLDWIDE PATENTED RCD DISC

RCD Flap Discs
From Grind to Finish

Cibo RCD flap discs combine abrasive cloth with surface-conditioning material in one worldwide-patented disc, helping operators move from material removal through blending and toward the required finish with fewer abrasive steps.

WHY RCD IS DIFFERENT

Grind. Blend. Finish. In Fewer Steps.

RCD combines two complementary abrasive technologies to help operators remove material while maintaining better control over the surface and final finish.

CONTROLLED MATERIAL REMOVAL

RCD helps remove material while limiting excessive grinding depth, giving the operator better control over the worked surface.

LOWER HEAT & VIBRATION

RCD is designed for cooler operation with low vibration, helping improve operator control and protect the quality of the finish.

CONSISTENT FINISH

Abrasive cloth and surface-conditioning material work together to progressively refine the surface and produce a more uniform finish.

FEWER PROCESS STEPS

RCD can combine grinding and finishing into fewer operations, reducing abrasive changes and simplifying the finishing process.

WORLDWIDE PATENTED RCD CONSTRUCTION

ONE DISC. TWO ABRASIVE TECHNOLOGIES.

Cibo’s worldwide-patented RCD design combines abrasive cloth with surface-conditioning material in one working face. The abrasive cloth provides controlled cutting action for material removal and weld cleanup, while the surface-conditioning material helps blend and refine the worked area as you move toward the required finish.

ABRASIVE CLOTH

Provides the cutting action for controlled material removal, weld cleanup and edge work.

RCD PRODUCT OPTIONS

CHOOSE THE RIGHT RCD FOR THE JOB

RCD is available in different abrasive constructions and mounting formats. The right direction depends on how much material needs to be removed, the finish required, the working area and the tool being used.

START WITH THE APPLICATION

FINISHING

Start here for controlled removal and a more refined finish.

VF · ME · CO | ALUMINUM OXIDE

For controlled material removal with a more uniform finish. This is the direction to consider for applications such as blending, reducing surface roughness, finishing angles and breaking edges.

GRINDING

Start here when heavier stock removal is the priority.

UC | CERAMIC

For more aggressive material removal when grinding is the primary need. The ceramic abrasive cloth provides the cutting action, while the surface-conditioning material helps control grinding depth as the surface is worked.

CHOOSE THE FORMAT

Select the RCD Format for the Tool and Application

Once the abrasive direction is established, select the mounting format around the grinder, working area and access required.
Cibo RCD flap disc with 5/8-11 threaded plastic backing
PLASTIC BACKING

5/8"-11 THREADED

Plastic backing designed for direct threaded mounting on compatible angle grinders. Available in 4-1/2″ and selected 5″ configurations, depending on RCD grade and profile.

Cibo RCD flap disc with 7/8 inch arbor and glass fibre backing
GLASS FIBRE BACKING

7/8" ARBOR

Glass-fibre backing for standard 7/8″ arbor mounting. A good choice where a conventional flap-disc mounting format is preferred.

Cibo 3 inch RCD Quick Change disc for compact grinding and finishing applications
COMPACT FORMAT

3" QUICK CHANGE

Compact RCD format for smaller tools, tighter work areas, and applications where maneuverability matters. Available in ME and CO finishing grades.

COMMON RCD APPLICATIONS

Where RCD Fits the Process

RCD is designed for applications where material removal and surface refinement need to happen with greater control and fewer abrasive changes.

Weld Seam Blending

Blend light weld seams while refining the surrounding surface toward the required finish.

Edge Breaking

Soften and refine sharp edges while maintaining better control over the finished profile.

Surface Refinement

Improve surface roughness and create a more uniform appearance after grinding.

Grinding-Line Removal

Refine coarse grinding marks and transition the surface toward a finer finish.

Light Deburring

Remove light burrs while blending the worked area in the same process.

Pre-Polish Preparation

Prepare surfaces for subsequent polishing by refining scratches and improving consistency.
